Are you getting caught in patterns of comparison which leave you feeling stuck, full of self-doubt and like you are not good enough? This is a struggle many of us are having these days in both life and business with the rise of social media and the increase of the number of platforms available which allow us to become wrapped up in other people’s lives.
If you have been on the conscious living journey for a little while, you may have found yourself ‘cleaning up’ various areas of your self and your life. Perhaps you are releasing old thought patterns, clearing out fear, raising your vibration, making more loving food choices and filling your life with positive people. But have you thought about what you are putting on your skin?
Making conscious, loving and discerning choices about what we put on our bodies each day, is a huge piece of the wellness puzzle. Sometimes this can be an area that gets neglected, but detoxifying our beauty products is such as important as detoxifying our diets and our thoughts.
I have spent much of the past few weeks reflecting on 2016 and taking an inner exploration into what within me still needs to be completed, released and processed so that I can close off one chapter and create a clean slate for the new.
As I reflected on this year, I noticed that there was not a lot to celebrate or acknowledge on the external scale. Yes, I moved house. I began corporate coaching – a big growth step for me. And I took Awaken Radio to new heights with my mini podcast episodes. The show expanded in big and beautiful ways this year, so much so that it reached the Top 20 Health podcast list on Itunes.
In today’s Awaken Radio episode I am speaking with Cassandra Bodzak, who is a global meditation and wellness teacher and founder of the online mind-body-soul support community, Aprecity.
I remember coming across Cassandra’s work months ago, and feeling instantly inspired and moved by her radiant light and energy, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I had her on the podcast.
I lived many years of my life ruled by an addiction to external love. I had a desperate yearning to be loved, and seeing I had no idea how to create that for myself, I chased and sought and searched for it outside of me.
I would change my body and appearance, modify by behaviour and even take on different personalities in order to fit in and be accepted by others. I was addicted to the love and attention I would receive from men, as it validated me and made me feel that I was loveable.
I would ride a rollercoaster of emotions depending on what my partner was giving me. When a man would shower me with love and affection I was on top of the world, and when he took his attention from me I became riddled insecurity and anxiety.
Over the past few years, I learnt a lot about how to take my power out of the various forms of external love, be it a man’s affection, the feedback I receive on my work, the number of like or comments, or the acceptance of my friends.
I have discovered how to tune deeply into myself, to understand my wants and needs and learn how to support, love and care for myself.
I feel grateful that I have now come to a place where I know I am source of my love, and although I can still get caught up in old patterns, I know how to catch them, re-connect and come back to myself.
I felt inspired to jump on the podcast today and dive into an exploration of self-love and how we can deepen our relationship with ourselves. This had been on my mind as a topic for months but it was inspired today by a conversation with one of my beautiful coaching clients.
In the episode, I share some insights on what it means to practise self-love and I give you 4 practical starting points to begin filling yourself up with love, from within.
In this episode I explore & discuss;
- What it means to practise self-love and the importance of building a loving relationship with yourself.
- The power of learning to be alone and love your own company.
- My simple self-connection practise that will help you tune into yourself each day.
- Why we are so addicted to external love and attention and how to support ourselves through the discomfort and emptiness we feel when we are alone.
- My favourite ‘little loves list’ practise that will help you to experience happiness, fulfilment and wholeness from within.
- The 2 most powerful self-love questions you can ask to help you support yourself and meet your needs in any moment.
- How to open your heart energy, treat yourself with more kindness, softness and acceptance and let love lead your life each day.

The theme of surrender is one which has been flowing deeply through my private coaching sessions and group programs a lot lately. Many of us are tired of the fight, struggle and anxiety that comes from living in a constant state of control. We are craving freedom and ease, and deep within our hearts, we know that will only come through surrender.
Surrender is not giving up, nor does it denote weakness. Rather it is one of most courageous paths you can walk. It requires deep trust and faith and a willingness to step bravely into the unknown.
Today’s podcast episode flowed out of me after my morning meditation. My focus for my morning practice today, had been primarily on aligning my energy and thoughts with love and my higher self.
I needed to re-connect as I had been feeling totally funky all week and had been in a complete state of resistance. Fear had been dominating my thoughts, and I knew it was now time to tune inwards, surrender and listen to love.
As I sat in meditation my energy began to lighten and expand. I felt whole, complete and anchored in love. All the fear fell away and was replaced with a deep inner knowing and a clear, strong feeling of worthiness.
Beautiful wisdom began to flow through me, and I felt moved to press record and jump on the podcast to share my insights and realisations with you. What unfolded was a beautiful conversation on how to embody our highest selves and bring our soul-desires to life.
In this episode I discuss & explore;
- Why most of us are trying to create change the wrong way.
- The trap you may be falling into which is causing you to feel blocked, stuck and overwhelmed on the path of pursuing your dreams.
- The power of making a whole-hearted decision to commit to your dreams even if you have no idea how.
- Why embodying the love, power and abundance of your highest self is the first step to having everything we want.
- Why a shift happens the minute you change your energy.
- The practices you can use to untangle yourself from your limited, fear-based mind and drop into deeper connection with love.
- The difference between fear-driven, reactive action, and love-driven inspired action.
- How aligning your energy with love before you take action will completely change the results you create.

Today’s Awaken Radio episode is with one of my favourite ladies Katie Dalebout. Katie and I connected years ago through our work, and I was lucky enough to be featured on her amazing podcast. It was through this conversation that I began to get to know this gorgeous and inspiring woman that you will hear a lot more from today.
