Sometimes we need to learn our lessons the hard way. Sometimes it takes a few loving knocks over the head from the Universe before we finally receive the message. Sometimes we grow the most through challenge.
Over the past 12 months I have learnt a lot about surrender, trust and flow as a result of the various waves of change that have thrust themselves into my life. At times I have felt like a victim to these changes. Like they were happening to me and I was just an innocent bystander. This is when I have struggled with them the most.
I have noticed that in the moments where I fight and resist, label the experience as bad or wrong, and become emotional mess in the turmoil that surrounds me, all I am doing is adding fuel to the already blazing fire.
It has taken me several big periods of change, to finally learn how to navigate this experience more smoothly.
Rather than resisting, I learning to accept. Rather than fighting, I am learning to surrender. Rather fearing, I am learning to trust. And as a result life is feeling a lot more peaceful and effortless.
There can be a real tendency to want to ‘hold it all together’ and cling to the old as it starts to change around you. But, I encourage you to take a deep breath and dive into the knowing that there is a bigger plan unfolding in your life right now. Maybe you just can’t see it.
What If Life Knew Better Than I Did?
In today’s video I share some guidance that came through for me in a recent journaling session. It was gorgeous and comforting wisdom that reminded me that even if sometimes life appears to be crumbling around you, that there is always a reason.
As this guidance flowed onto my pages, I found myself exploring these questions;
+ What if life always knew what was best for me?
+ What if it was creating changes and experiences to help me let go of what was no longer right for me, and make space for what is?
+ What if there was actually a perfect, divinely inspired plan being arranged for my highest good?
+ What if all I had to do was get out of the way, surrender, trust and flow with life and know that it always knew what was best?
I want you to notice how you feel as you sit with these new possibilities. For me, I instantly felt my shoulders drop, my breathing deepen and my whole body soften. I felt myself let go.
Video: Surrender, Trust & Let Life Lead You
I would love to hear your thoughts on this practise of surrender and trusting life. How do you feel about letting go of ‘your way’ and learning to flow more with ‘life’s way’? Leave me a comment below.
With love,
Connie x
Surrendering is definitely not a one time process, I am learning! And like you said in your video: life is so much more pleasant when we go with the flow. Today, even, I learned a lesson about how being patient and trusting more in myself — even if it doesn’t seem logical in other people’s eyes — can have a huge, soul-satisfying payoff. And coming across your video only reinforces that message. Thanks Connie for always being so open about where you’re at in your process. 🙂
Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to others, or even to ourselves when we are trusting in something deeper, but we are rewarded for our patience and the faith we show. Sending you love beautiful x
This is so true Connie, I am always wanting things to happen how and when I want, and it often doesn’t go that way. Thanks for the reminder to trust life and allow things to unfold as they’re meant to 🙂
Yep Kirstin, I know what you mean. It can create so much frustration when we are needing things to happen how we want, and then we can feel like a failure when they don’t. Trust and flow all the way! x
My goodness my darling- if there’s anything I’ve learned from the past few months, it’s to just let go, let go again and let go some more. Sometimes, life doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer!
This is constant life lesson for me, but I find that life rewards me for letting go (and saying goodbye to ego) in gorgeous and surprising ways. A beautiful video Connie- thank you! xx
Ahh I have been learning this lesson over and over too Katie! I have experienced so much shedding, release and letting go and the more I flow with it, the more I realise how empowering and beautiful the process is x
Hey Connie! What you’re saying feels particularly pertinent for me right now, especially because I am always drawing cards like ‘Bondage’ ‘The World’ and ‘The Hanged Man’ from my tarot deck! Which is basically like someone shaking me and saying “chill the hell out woman!”. Guess it’s time to stop pushing and screaming and yelling.
Keep the good stuff coming, lady! 😉
Haha your guidance is speaking to you loud and clear Camilla!! The challenging part is now to listen to it and act on it 😉 xx
Connie! I just wanted to let you know that I’m a subscriber of many coaching blogs, but you’re undoubtedly my very favorite. You really speak to my heart, and I just want to say *thank you* for being so amazing! 🙂

Wow! This past weekend I have been given 3 different messages from the universe that screamed surrender. I found your blog via a Google search and feel you were writing and speaking directly to me. Then I noticed the date of the article. September 9, 2014 is the day I fled from an abusive relationship. Now it is so clear that surrender is the big life lesson for me. Thank you for helping me finally see it!
AMAZING! AMAZING!
In all honesty it feels like I have truly found my angel that is helping me indentify with issues and obstacles that I have been facing. THANKS Connie! (my angel)
I thank God for you!!
